Hidden Gems: Meet Emilee Dee of D LAGREE STUDIO

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emilee Dee.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I first discovered Lagree back in 2018 when I was living in Chicago. I come from a yoga background and have always loved movement and trying new workouts, but this method hit different. I left my very first class thinking, “What was that and when can I do it again?” It challenged me in ways I hadn’t felt before, both mentally and physically. From that point on, I was hooked!

When I moved to Hendersonville in 2021, I was bummed there wasn’t a Lagree studio close by. I kept thinking about how much this community would love it if they just had access to it. So I sat with that for a while… until eventually I realized maybe I was supposed to be the one to bring it here. Fast forward to now, I opened D LAGREE STUDIO in April 2025, and it still feels surreal. It’s been really special watching this idea that once lived in my head become a real space where people are showing up, moving, growing, and genuinely loving it!

I’m still figuring out a lot as I go, but I’m so lucky to have an awesome support system. My husband and parents have been the ultimate cheerleaders, behind me every step of the way helping make this dream a reality! Also, my mom’s an entrepreneur, so I’ve learned a lot from her, and I lean on her often. Still, nothing prepares you quite like actually doing the thing. What’s kept me going is how deeply I believe in this method, and how much I wanted to share it with this community.

Now, when I see someone leave class feeling stronger, more confident, or just having a really good day because of it, it brings me right back to that very first class in Chicago. And honestly, this is just the beginning! 🙂

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It was a big leap to take, so of course it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. One of the ongoing challenges has just been managing the many hats I wear. I’m a wife, a mom, and pregnant with baby number two—so life is definitely full! Balancing family and business is a lot (some days more than others), but I wouldn’t trade it. It’s pushed me in the best ways and continues to teach me how to be really intentional with my time and energy.

And from the business side, one thing I didn’t fully anticipate was the impact of the summer slowdown. People are traveling, kids are out of school, schedules shift, and that can definitely affect class attendance. It’s all part of the learning curve, especially being in our first few months open. But even with that, it’s been amazing to see how many people are still showing up, committed, and loving the method. That kind of energy keeps me going—and reminds me why I started in the first place.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
D LAGREE STUDIO is the first and only Lagree studio in Hendersonville, and we’re so excited to bring something totally new to this community. People often think Lagree is just another form of Pilates—and while they share some roots, they’re not the same. Lagree is done on a machine called the Megaformer. The method is high-intensity, low-impact, and all about slow, controlled movements. It’s a full-body burn that hits muscles you didn’t even know you had, but it’s also super safe on your joints. You’ll shake, you’ll sweat, and you’ll leave feeling stronger every time!

What makes us different isn’t just the workout—it’s the experience. From day one, I wanted this to be a space that felt welcoming, supportive, and motivating. Our instructors are here to challenge you, but also to meet you where YOU are. Whether it’s your first class or your fiftieth, you’ll never feel out of place here!

I’m especially proud of the brand we’ve built because it truly reflects who we are. The “D” in D LAGREE comes from my last name, Dee, but it also stands for all the words that Lagree embodies: determination, dedication, drive, discipline (just to name a few). It’s not just about movement—it’s about showing up so you can be your best YOU!

If you’re looking for something different, something that really works but also feels so good to be a part of- you’ll find it at D LAGREE 🙂

What does success mean to you?
For me, success is doing something you love and getting to share that passion with others. My mom always said, “Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life,” and it’s so true. I genuinely love what I do—and I think that’s why this has worked. When you care that much, it shows. People feel it. And that’s what makes all the difference!
