Inspiring Conversations with Cathy Cardenas of Cathy Cardenas Public Relations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cathy Cardenas.

Cathy Cardenas

Hi Cathy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I come from a background in radio, television, and marketing. This background led me to public relations and advertising. People organically came to me asking me to handle their public relations. My business just kind of happened from there.

Thirteen years later, my clients have been 100% referral-based. I love helping people help build their brand. I know what it means when small businesses see the return on their investment in PR when they see their brand on TV or on a magazine cover.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’m blessed to be able to have a business that’s 100% referral. The main struggles have come with the juggling of maintaining a diverse roster of clients and managing all of their schedules. I’m always up for a challenge, so I’ve always made it work.

As you know, we’re big fans of Cathy Cardenas Public Relations. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I’m a fixer. I book a lot of press, but when people have things that aren’t going well, I also get hired to develop new ideas for them and for their businesses. I think outside of the box with creative events and ways to build the brand. My clients are like family to me and I want to see each and every one succeed beyond anyone’s perceived limits.

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I also have a clothing line called Hope Wear Clothing that I started in 2020 and I have a faith-based podcast that I co-host with Catherine Sutherland called Grace Begins with new episodes airing on podcast channels every Wednesday.
