Inspiring Conversations with Corisa Lewis of Pineapple’s Foodservice and Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corisa Lewis.

Hi Corisa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I have always had a passion for cooking and entertaining people. I have had a couple restaurants and food-related businesses but it was more of a hobby while I worked for other chefs. In 2018 I decided I would quit my job and focus on Pineapple’s Foodservice and Events full-time and it has been great ever since. I decided to not only cater but to host themed dinner parties and Marketplaces as well. Every December I host a Women’s Empowerment Dinner Event. I also host a Lingerie Fashion Show in February. I want to bring an exciting culinary experience to Nashville.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road because my financial situation has not been as good as I would like it to be but thanks to my faith in God along with a supportive family and friends, I have been able to maintain.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have had a passion for food and cooking since I was a kid. Learning to cook from my mom and grandmother. As I got older, I began to experiment with different flavors and spices that I picked up from traveling and watching the chefs on the early days of the Food Network. I like to call my food Eclectic Soul because it a mix-up of different styles and cultures. I am known for delicious food and great hospitality. I have been hosting dinner events since 2011 and I started hosting infused dinner parties several years ago and that transitioned into the Infused Marketplace. I am proud of the progression of my business as a whole. Pineapple’s Foodservice and Events will continue to evolve and offer quality services and events. I like the consultation process because it helps me learn about the client to be to offer the best service structured just for them.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My mom deserves more credit than I give her because she layed the foundation for who I am today… My daughters and grandchildren have first and foremost been my greatest inspiration and motivation. My sisters, brother, cousin, and friends that are more like sisters have been so supportive and very instrumental to my success. My mentor Vina Hayes with Simply Beautiful Events has really been helpful and encouraging. I also want to shout out Lizz with Willow Wellness for stepping in and making videos and flyers and just being real…
