Life & Work with John Henry Soto of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Henry Soto.

Hi John Henry, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in the South Bronx, in a tough neighborhood where you had to grow up fast and find something to anchor you. For me, that anchor was music. My grandfather gave me my first guitar, and that gift changed everything. Music became my escape and my identity, eventually leading me to form a band called Glass of Know with people I cared about deeply.

We poured everything into that band, and losing one of our bandmates was a devastating blow. It hit us hard, and honestly, we never fully recovered from it. That loss stayed with me, and it forced me to look for another way to express myself and process everything I had lived through.

That’s when storytelling through film entered my life in a much bigger way. I found peace in writing, directing, and creating stories that reflect the struggles, the humor, the hope, and the humanity I’ve seen along the way. Film became a new voice for me — one that allowed me to heal while helping others feel seen.

Today, music is still a major part of who I am, but filmmaking has become a powerful extension of my purpose. Both art forms shaped my journey, and now they guide me as I work to help others tell their stories too.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Growing up poor was the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced. Every day felt like a struggle, and there were so many things I didn’t have that other kids did. When I finally made it out and began to experience having a little money, it felt like true freedom—like I could breathe and make choices without constantly worrying. I never took that freedom for granted, and it shaped how I approach life today. Now, with two amazing kids, my focus is on giving them what I didn’t have—and so much more. I want them to know opportunities, stability, and the kind of freedom that allows them to dream big without limits.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a filmmaker, musician, and founder of JHS Talent Management. I love storytelling and I’m good at understanding the human condition—through film, music, and helping artists grow their careers. Over the years, I’ve interviewed hundreds of people, including Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musicians and award-winning filmmakers, which has given me a deep appreciation for creativity and the journeys people take to succeed.

My livestream show, which is exclusively on Rumble. It’s been an incredible platform to connect directly with my audience, share stories, and spotlight amazing artists. Along with my co-host George Batista, being on Rumble gives me the freedom to create content the way I want, without limitations, and to engage with viewers in a genuine, unfiltered way. Every episode is a chance to inspire, entertain, and bring people into the world of storytelling and creativity that I’m so passionate about.

I’m most proud of taking my life experiences—from growing up in the South Bronx and overcoming hardship to finding freedom through music and filmmaking—and turning them into stories and opportunities that inspire others.

What sets me apart? Well, besides my creative work, I’m short… and my wife is super tall. 😂 But seriously, it’s my mix of real-world experience, empathy, and passion for helping artists create lives and careers they can be proud of that truly makes me stand out.

I’m also thrilled to be signed with Talent Trek Management. They understand my vision as a filmmaker, musician, and storyteller, and they’ve been instrumental in helping me grow my career. Working with them gives me access to opportunities and guidance that allow me to focus on creating meaningful work. It’s exciting to have a team that truly believes in my voice and the stories I want to share.

What does success mean to you?
Waking up and knowing that what you have to do today is fullfilling and can help others. That to me is success and I can;t think of anything else that would define it better. Yes, people will say money is success and that is nice too but money without purpose is pointless.
