Life & Work with Kelli Rodgers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelli Rodgers.

Hi Kelli, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
When my daughters were young and as they grew up, we would love having simple, light suppers. One of the faves was always a good cheeseboard on the beach. It began a love for the finest of cheeses, crudités, and accompaniments. Mixing spicy with mellow and adding little bits to make a perfect bite. It is a fun way to eat, especially with a group. This love grew into a hobby and then a way of life.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been rather smooth. There are always bumps along the way and learning curves. Realizing that I am not competing with others is the biggest test for me. Staying true to myself and my esthetic is what I’m focusing on.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’ve never thought of myself as artistic. Ever. I can’t even draw a cute stick figure. I have ideas in my mind but have never been able to make it come to fruition. Creating cheese boards allows that for me. It taps into my right brain a bit. That’s exciting for me.

What are your plans for the future?
No big changes planned. I’m almost 56 so this is a good way for me to make a living and not have to over-stress myself mentally or physically. It’s hard work but hard work that doesn’t keep me awake at night with worry. That’s a nice place to be.
