Life & Work with Terrence McGarr

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terrence McGarr.

Hi Terrence, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Land of Greeks TV started with the idea of having all kinds of collegiate greek content and one place, like ESPN, but instead of sport, its fraternity and sorority entertainment television.

Before pledging to a fraternity and becoming a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., I developed an admiration for all Black Greek-lettered Organizations or BGLOs. So much so, that I would see them doing events on campus, and I would stop and stare, and I was amazed by these orgs.

So amazed that after watching them for hours at a time, I would go home and look my school’s orgs up on YouTube. There would always be old footage or little-to-no footage at all. That’s when I said, “This is a problem and it needs to be fixed”.

There should be one place where you can go and view your favorite Greek orgs on your campus and it should be updated with the current members, not old footage from 2006. That’s when I founded Land of Greeks TV in 2018.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting LOGTV was not a smooth road. There were always challenges of being afraid to record videos or being rejected. What if they don’t let me in the building?

What if they don’t want to be on camera? What if they say no? There were always these questions in the back of my head. I had to force myself to just do it!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Land of Greeks TV is a television network for collegiate Greek content. We specialize in displaying Greek events such as step shows, probates, presentations, philanthropy events, and interviews.

We are known for being one of the fastest-growing Greek networks currently and always popping up at their campus events. What we are most proud of is helping smaller schools and chapters be recognized on a national scale via our national audience.

We are also proud to always display these organizations in a positive light. If it’s not positive, we don’t promote it! What sets us apart from others is the fact that we produce original content, plus cover more areas of content for the organizations.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
The people who deserve the most credit are my closest friends and family, but most importantly, God. Without God, I would not be able to work or even have the ideas that I have had for producing content.

In addition, my friends motivated me to take a leap of faith, quit my full-time job, and start my company.
