Today we’d like to introduce you to Andy Imlay.
Hi Andy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I started my journey as a 2-pound 11oz premature baby in 1979. The odds have been stacked against me my whole life. I found an outlet to connect with people in July of 2014 through stand-up comedy.
I break down barriers through laughter. No stage is too big or small I really believe laughter is for all.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
When I first started out most stages weren’t accessible but I still found a way to get on stage and let my light shine.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have had the great opportunity to perform at the Orlando Improv and also with the late Dustin diamond.
My Halloween costume from several years ago got retweeted by the guys from South Park. Top of the list is performing Comedy in Metropolis Illinois the home of Superman. What sets me apart from others is my unique perspectives about life in a world not really made for me.
My comedy comes from life experiences and memories of a childhood full fitting into my school as the only person with a disability.
What do you think about happiness?
My beautiful daughter and wife are my source of happiness every day. I wake up every morning thankful for a healthy beautiful family.
