Meet Ashley Sorrentino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Sorrentino.

Hi Ashley, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
From the time I was a little girl, I always envisioned a bigger life for myself. From watching my young parents struggle to give my siblings and I a better life, to then becoming a young mother myself and doing whatever I could to provide for my son as best as I could, while working two jobs during the day, I decided to enroll in beauty school at night and then began my entrance into the beauty industry, working in NY gave me the privilege of working amongst some of the most talented women in the industry and paved a path for incredibly memorable experiences. This is what sparked my love for all things beauty. During my years as a hair and makeup artist, I’ve gotten to witness some of the most emotional and beautiful reactions after women leave my chair. This showed me how valuable our industry was and what lead me to open Alite Artistry, so I can continue to make women look and feel their absolute best.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been the easiest experience. Entrepreneurship is a difficult process emotionally and financially, but it has most definitely been worth every minute.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a Hair and Makeup artist. I mostly work with brides, but I have worked in all areas of the beauty industry. I have been told that my ability to “transform” women in a way that still looks natural, effortless, and beautiful is what sets me apart from other artists.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I always make it a point to keep anything personal about me private, so when people know about my work history (working photoshoots in NYC, working fashion week, and learning from celebrity makeup artists and hairstylists) they are always shocked to hear that I am young and that I am also married with 3 children.
