Meet Chinelle Gwartney of Elite Vixen Paranormal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chinelle Gwartney.

Hi Chinelle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2018, myself, Samantha Glumm, and Kayla Martel were on another paranormal team. This team included both men and women. During our tenure on the team, we learned quickly what it was like to be a female in the world of paranormal investigation. Not having our opinions heard, being treated differently as our male colleagues, and having new and inventive ways to investigate spoke about in a negative light, we endured this and so much more during our time on that team. After a particularly horrendous night of investigation at a location in Kentucky, Samantha came to me and asked about starting our own team. An all-female team. Our goal from the beginning was to show the paranormal world that women are just as good as men at investigating, and to bring equality and advocate for other females in the field. Elite Vixen Paranormal was born in November 2018, and we have been going strong ever since! We now have a team of 6 beautiful ladies, from all walks of life. Our team is Samantha Glumm, Chinelle Gwartney, Kayla Martel, Jessica Ward, Rayna Woodman, and Janice Landis. We not only strive to show the value women have in the paranormal field; we do things just like the our male colleagues do. We use scientific, empirical investigation techniques, all with that added feminine touch.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As with any venture, having a paranormal team is not easy. Building a brand of any kind takes time, money, and energy. We have had to defend ourselves to a few people who were not supportive, which allowed us to learn how to build thicker skin. Naysayers are part of the journey. We have also had to learn who to trust and that not every producer who comes along offering the world can actually make dreams come true. We’ve learned how to market, video edit, audio edit, social media presence, event hosting, and all the things that come along with building your brand. We even learned how to get a copyright! Investing all the time and energy into the team and investigating, reviewing evidence and everything that goes along with that, while maintaining personal lives, did cause some paranormal burnout. We spent a lot of 2021 focusing on the “normal world”, and took a break from the paranormal world. We have been back into the field full force since September, and do not plan on stopping anytime soon!

As you know, we’re big fans of Elite Vixen Paranormal. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
There are many paranormal teams in Middle Tennessee, but we are the only Vixens – the only team you will find running around dark empty buildings in full makeup, dressed in bright pink and black. We are an exclusive all-female paranormal team, which specializes in the investigation of known haunted locations. We have had clients call for “house calls”, which are private residences with activity, but we really do not specialize in that. Two of us have degrees in psychology, and I am working on my master’s degree in counseling. In the paranormal field there are few teams who can do psychological evaluations on their clients, which leads to time wasted on someone who needed to see a psychiatrist instead of a paranormal investigation. We are special since we have the ability to do this. This is rare in our field. In addition to that ability, our team includes a skeptic, a psychic medium, two empaths, and an ordained minister. We are an eclectic group of women. Also, all of us are at varying levels in our practice of witchcraft. We are most proud of building the relationships we have and sticking to our values. Even when faced with adversity, we hold our heads up high, maintain our classiness and decorum, and are always the Elite Vixens we are!

How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
We love collaborating with other teams. We have done multiple podcasts, been guests on the radio (102.9 the Buzz, 2019). We do public events where people can meet us, photo ops, etc. We currently are doing a charity event for the holidays. We’ve adopted a family in need, and are providing them with Christmas. We have had donations from people in the paranormal community and beyond to help with this. Next year, we plan on doing this bigger and are in the planning stages of hosting a public ticketed event at a known haunted location in Middle Tennessee sometime next fall. We are on all social media platforms, and Facebook is the easiest way to reach us. Following, and supporting our ventures while we explore creepy places is always welcomed! Throughout the year, we will be hosting various opportunities to investigate with the Vixens, and these opportunities are always marketed through Facebook. We also have merchandise, but this is in the process of being revamped. More details to follow on this! Also, if you or someone you know needs help with “visitors” in their home, we can gladly take a look at your case. If we are unable to help you, we have a network of thousands of others in the field who may be able to!
