Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Elkins.
Hi Jason, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Currently, I own a marketing coaching business where I teach high performers and entrepreneurs how to grow their business through digital marketing and prospecting techniques, and I run a digital marketing firm with a partner called “ElkPark Media” where we do social media, web, and video projects for a number of local and global companies.
This journey started over a decade ago when I left a web development firm with the idea that I would have 100 cups of coffee in 100 days with 100 business owners to develop relationships that would lead to sales as a consultant.
I enjoyed website projects, but I didn’t like that the relationship typically ended after the sale. Social media was JUST becoming a thing at that time and I thought that by helping companies with social media, blogging, email marketing, and campaigns, I could maintain longer-lasting relationships.
Building relationships with leaders and being a valuable resource for companies is what I love to do, and over time this concept of developing strong relationships through face-to-face meetings has grown into a prospecting practice I teach through a course I designed called 100 Cups Academy.
My days are spent helping business leaders and companies in the for-profit and non-profit sectors with marketing projects and prospecting/relationship building.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This hasn’t been a smooth road. Some of the challenges have been my own mindset and staying organized. I’m gifted with being good at relationships, and generally a positive person, but when you work independently, there is nobody telling you that you have to get up and do something every day to move your business forward. Also, a secret that nobody talked about for years was how lonely running your own business can be. Especially for someone like me that gets his energy by being around people. Getting a business coach early on was a key for me… Shout out to John Michael Morgan.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
ElkPark Media specializes in done-for-you social media, web and video projects. We are involved with several organizations running their social media, creating marketing videos, and developing organic campaigns to highlight employees, specialties, products, and projects.
With 100 Cups Consulting, I work with high performers and small business owners as a marketing coach, and I teach people better prospecting/sales techniques through 100 Cups Academy.
Regarding branding, I’m known for developing the 100 cups of coffee in 100 days concept. This happened organically and was just simply the technique I used for developing great relationships and prospects for business, and it has grown into something unique that I now teach to others. I’ve taught this program to non-profit groups (fundraisers), traditional salespeople, and small business owners. I love teaching and helping people and speak to groups about this program as well.
What are your plans for the future?
ElkPark is growing fast and we’re building out our team. We have big plans for 2022 including some app development and more sophisticated marketing campaigns for companies. We have a contract right now doing a lot of animated video work and that’s been a blast and something we will see more of in 2022.
100 Cups Academy will continue to grow as well, and I’m launching my first international program in Europe in January 2022. There will be more online courses for 100 Cups Academy, and a book, and more speaking engagements as well.
