Meet John Michael Morgan of ACHIEVR

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Michael Morgan.

Hi John Michael, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was a teenager. I began selling things on eBay. When I was out of school I started in real estate. During that time, I began consulting for businesses that needed help with their branding and marketing. I fell in love with working with entrepreneurs and leaders. Eventually, I sold the real estate business and went full-time into consulting.

That journey lead me to become a best-selling author, speaking at events across the world, and working with brands like Disney, Google, Twitter, and BMW. Over the course of the last 13 years, I discovered something about entrepreneurs. It didn’t matter how good the strategies or ideas were…if their mindset was full of self-doubt, nothing would work.

Mindset was THE difference between those who were experiencing incredible success and those who kept falling short. At this point, my journey came full circle. I had been a devoted student of personal development and mindset work since I was a teenager. I got into it because I massively struggled with depression. I needed to work on my mindset to save my life. I had no idea that years later it would become my career.

Today, I work with entrepreneurs and leaders from all over the world, helping them get their minds right. It’s the greatest honor and pleasure I can imagine.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve yet to meet someone who didn’t struggle with self-doubt in some way. It’s certainly what held me back for years. I let that doubt paralyze me. I had to work on myself more than my business. This included overcoming depression, self-sabotage, self-doubt, and more. 99.9% of the challenges I’ve faced were self-inflicted. Success isn’t hard. We make it hard. It took me a while to get out of my own way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about ACHIEVR?
I’m a mindset mentor to entrepreneurs ready to work on themselves to achieve all they can imagine. We do this through group coaching as well as 1 on 1 coaching. We have the longest client retention rate in the coaching industry.

I’m known for two things…high energy and telling you like it is. It’s a rule in our company that we don’t teach anything based on theory. We only teach proven techniques and strategies we have tested.

I’m proud to play a small role in the journey of so many successful entrepreneurs. The fact that people read my books, consume my content, and listen to me speak will never stop blowing my mind. I’m blessed beyond measure.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
One of the few skills I have is not being afraid to ask questions. Don’t be shy. Ask for help. Most successful people, while busy, are happy to share what they’ve learned. They love giving back. Most people love to be of help to someone.

The best mentors are often found in books. Read as much as you can. The older books are often the best. An author doesn’t have to be living to mentor you.

If you want a more hands-on mentor the best way, without a doubt, is to be of service to them. Volunteer to help them. Don’t ask them to pick their brain. That’s of no value to them and it sounds gross. Find a way to help them.
