Today we’d like to introduce you to Logan Thompson.
Hi Logan , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story started just like most people in the wedding industry but my love for weddings and love is something that I have carried with me for my whole life. Between being a single mom who needs a somewhat flexible schedule and wanting a job that I love, I thought I could totally do that. My family opened up The Venue at Birchwood in 2021 and around that time is when I started Violet & Vines Events, named after my daughter Violet. I hit the ground running and was able to become a full time wedding planning in 2022 (which is something I will forever be thankful for). My family ended up selling Birchwood 3 years ago but my planning business is stronger than ever. Not only am I often still at Birchwood but I am happy to be at venues all over Nashville. I am thankful that I can say I love my job, my clients and vendors I worked with daily!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course, wedding planning is a forever roller coaster and there is always pressure to make it someone’s most perfect day but I would say I have been so lucky with my journey and the clients I have. The biggest struggle isn’t necessarily with the job itself but with the time I spend working. I work all week and most weekends so having to miss out big life events and weekends with my daughter and husband have been the most difficult.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Violet & Vines Events is a wedding and event planning company. We offer a couple different packages for clients to choose from to help with their planning process of their big event. Something I am most proud of are all the past events I have done and how far my company has come. It has been me behind every email, wedding day and social media post for almost 5 years (with the help of my amazing wedding day assistants who are my rocks!!) But next year, I will be able to add on another lead planner which is a huge work goal of mine. Luckily in Nashville, we are blessed with amazing venue, vendors and other planners so you are always in good hands but something that might set me a part is how incredibly calm I am on a wedding day, I am often told that. I have trust in my team, vendors we are working with and my work ahead of the wedding day so anything that happens, we handle calmly and quickly. It all comes back to me loving my job and I truly think you can see that when working with me!
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The biggest lessons is that you can never be too prepared so ask all the questions (even the crazy and repetitive ones) and also to have trust in the vendors you are working with. We are all there for the same purpose and on the same team, creating relationships with them is super important and it isn’t hard to be a kind person, especially on someone’s happiest day of their life!
