Today we’d like to introduce you to Rev. Michael Alford.
Hi Rev. Michael , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello, my name is Rev. Michael Alford. I am the Pastor of Mount Pisgah Apostolic Church for all people. I was raised in Mobile, Alabama, I have lived in the Nashville area 25 years. My great great Grandmother Crocker was part of the original Azuza street movement. I have been blessed to work at several churches throughout my career after Bible college. We started our current ministry 17 years ago. Mount Pisgah is currently located in Old Hickory Village, Our progressive ministry hosts several church singings throughout the year. We pride ourselves in our fellowship dinners, and weekly Bible studies. We strive to proclaim the true gospel of Jesus Christ.
I currently reside in Goodlettsville with my spouse of 23 years, our two dogs and chickens. We are blessed to be able to share our egg ministry with food pantrys and the elderly of the churches.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We started in our living room as a Bible study. Of course we struggled because of size limitations. Mount Pisgah has moved five times, and it’s been a blessing each time because we’re building community throughout the city.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m in the business of helping people heal from church hurt and family struggles. To lead people to salvation. Mount Pisgah Apostolic Church is for all people.
Ministry does leave the pulpit. We go to hospitals, fellowship with other churches, and council people even out of our ministry. Outreach to the homeless. Whatever means that may be needed.
We are known as one of the affirming ministries in Nashville. We celebrate all people.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I’m sure there’s many definitions for success. Being able to reach that one person, to succeed in healing and their wholeness. Watching a Saint get renewed in their relationship with Jesus Christ. That’s what successful to me.
