Meet Stacy Beam of South Nashville, Whispering Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Beam.

Hi Stacy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in n Alabama going to horse shows every weekend in the summer. I I started painting equine portraits then, and stayed very busy. But I was burned out, tired of commission work age by twenty and took detour as a musician. Now I have come back to oil painting full time, painting landscapes, abstracts and the occasional portrait.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wouldn’t say it’s been easy, but trying to do anything else would have been a lot harder! I’ve also had some really good luck along the way!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I paint textured large scale oil paintings. People have said that my paintings buzz with energy, that they feel alive! That’s what I hope. I love playing with color and light. I’m most proud of the emotional impact that happens when people connect with my work.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I’m naturally inclined towards creating, always have been. But I’ve also been driven to order my life in a way that allows me to do the work- I just never stopped. I’m obsessed, and I pretty much won’t do anything else!
