Rising Stars: Meet DeAndrea Grayson

Today we’d like to introduce you to DeAndrea Grayson.

Hi DeAndrea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
It all started with my creativity and my mom being a teacher. One day, I texted her and was like “hey, what do you think about us starting a business, an educational subscription box for kids”.

I believe this was in February. We came up with a business plan, etc and Eduscape Literacy was born. It all happened so fast! I am so eager to get things done quickly. I wanted a nice spring/Easter setting so the launch was on April 3rd.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Since we are fairly new, the road has been short. Although it’s new, the struggles I would say have been engaging and finding an audience that’s for your product.

We promote local and there’s some support from friends and family but not a lot from those on your social media friends list. One step at a time!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I work in the healthcare field, I also have a bachelors in Public Health. Outside of work I am busy homeschooling my 2 boys, keeping them busy, and entertained. I am most proud of being a mom! It’s not easy but it’s always worth it.

My mom is an elementary school teacher for Metro Davidson County.

What do you think about luck?
I think luck can sometimes be an illusion. I believe that things happen how they’re supposed to, good and bad.

I’d like to think there’s more good than bad out there. I feel that if you do good things, good things will soon come to you.
