Rising Stars: Meet Emily Isom of Cool Springs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Isom.

Emily, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
When we became moms, we quickly realized that we had another passion— being moms! So we wanted to create a program that allows for flexibility for families while encompassing students in an environment that is loving, engaging, creative, and emotionally supportive to allow children to blossom to their greatest potential.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth would not be the word! We opened our doors to operate in the Fall of 2020– smack dab in the middle of a pandemic. Also, we aren’t business majors. So learning how to navigate starting and running a business while also teaching (because that’s our passion) had some challenges. We have learned so much along the way & continue to.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We have a homeschool tutorial that operates in Cool Springs with flexible scheduling in a small classroom setting. It’s the perfect blend of homeschool and traditional schooling. All of our teachers are certified & licensed, and they are truly the best teachers you’ll find in the state. Their love for teaching children, their energy, the love they pour into their students— there’s no other place like us for that in itself. We teach all of the core classes from 9-1 Mondays-Thursdays. Fridays are optional.

A really cool part of what we do is that we offer extracurricular options from 1-3 for students who want to participate in classes such as martial arts, culinary class, dance, choir, PE, Art, STEAM, and more. Students choose and create their own extracurricular schedule each quarter. We also have optional Fridays & have partnered with a company who teaches business & leadership classes to kids.

What does success mean to you?
Seeing students and teachers with smiles as they enter and exit school each day. Students and teachers who love coming to school, who love challenging themselves to be their best, when students feel supported and loved in the classroom and blossom right before your eyes.

  • Annual tuition $8,400 ($850/month)
  • Extracurricular tuition is $450/quarter and are optional
