Rising Stars: Meet F.L.O.G.I.C

Today we’d like to introduce you to F.L.O.G.I.C.

Hi F.L.O.G.I.C, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thanks for having us! We are Favored Ladies of God in Christ. We believe that we are called to use our music as a ministry to bridge cultural and generational gaps across the world, and we strive towards that effort every single day. Both of us come from a multi-cultural background and we speak over five languages.

The two of us started as babies singing and saying little one-liners on the mic. We began rapping at the young ages of five and six, and we both grew up singing and praise dancing in church. We also did a lot of musical theatre growing up, and we come from a performance background. Our live performances are exemplary of that history, and we are known to put on a great show!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely has been a journey to get to where we are now. There is no full-proof plan or roadmap, just a lot of faith and a lot of smart work. As new artists navigating through the music industry in the digital age, we constantly have to combat the noise and strive toward overcoming anonymity.

Being a woman makes that feat even more trying, and we continuously have to overcome a lot of obstacles, especially in the Christian hip-hop genre. There have been times where we were actually close to throwing in the towel.

In December of 2019, we had a heart-to-heart conversation giving ourselves a timeline for our group to see noticeable growth and before we could even finish the conversation we were invited for a private music audition to AGT season 14. We knew it was God’s way of telling us not to give up!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We have a podcast, “She’s the Balm Podcast,” that we created as a safe space for women to heal and encourage each other. However, men are still welcome to join the party. We do not discriminate. We love all people and you can see that through the music we make and the way we live. We say that we are FEM (females empowering mankind). In addition to that, we are passionate about health and wellness and we believe in artists being mentally, physically, and emotionally healthy in order for them to be at their full potential.

We are advocates for fair artist compensation, and we frequently speak out on the importance of arts education and connection. Our journey is truly just beginning and we know that God has a lot more in store for our future. We are on fire for the Kingdom and are excited for what is ahead!

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
We love Nashville! Period! Especially the beautifully rich music scene. What we like least about Nashville is the traffic.
