Rising Stars: Meet Paige Allen of Murfreesboro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Allen.

Paige Allen

Hi Paige, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story as a creative and one who is passionate about seeing others walk in their purpose starts at the age of 3. My dance journey started with one ballet class at a small daycare and quickly grew into becoming a professional studio dancer for over 20 years. The freedom to express myself in movement & choreography is truly a gift only God could have given me. In excellence and grace I am striving to use my gift of dance to proclaim the name of Jesus.

After I graduated college at Middle Tennessee State University, I was apart of a faith based internship (afterschool program coordinator) working with children and families in underserved communities. I quickly realized that it is so important for us to come together to help and give resources to those who are unable to afford them. My goal is to one day create a space where art, faith, and community can become one and pour life back into those who feel like they don’t belong. I truly want to embody the love and light of Jesus through all that I say and do!

I believe wellness and peace are vital to a healthy life! In 2023, I received my Esthetician license and continue to work to provide a relaxing environment for clients that come in to see me. It’s amazing to see what just a moment of rest can bring to not only your body but your soul. My overall life purpose is to be a good steward of all God has given me and to serve others well.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to becoming the woman I am today has not been smooth and speaks to the testimony of how far God has brought me. All throughout my childhood and into teenage years I struggled with anxiety, depression, people pleasing and low self esteem to name a few. I was a shy kid and wanted to be accepted by those around me. I wasn’t a fan of change and didn’t fully know my own voice or how to use it. Through the years I started going down a dark path that I couldn’t get out of on my own. Growing up in the church stood as a foundation for me but I wasn’t fully walking in my identity in Jesus Christ. The struggle of who I was and who God says that I am lasted over 2 decades. Im so thankful that I had people praying for me and encouraging me to keep going. I can now say that only through Jesus I am truly free!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am most known for my dance & choreography skills. Being trained in various styles such as ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary and heels has allowed me to be in rooms that I never dreamed of. Performance and executing movements with intention is what sets me apart in my artistry. I specialize in teaching others, no matter the age, to not just dance but tell their story through movement. My best friend and I started a dance ministry called “Chosen Flow” where we point people back to Jesus and the Kingdom of God through traditional gospel as well as Christian R&B and rap songs. Dance is a ministry that should carry excellence and power..to speak into your own life so that it can flow down to others experiencing it. I want those who take a class from me or watch me dance to be empowered to go after the gifts that God has given them..Authentically and Unapologetically!

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Personally, over the next 5-10 years I would love to see Christian dance be known more around the world. Workshops, retreats and conferences based on faith and the arts, not just dance, is a shift that I feel would have a positive impact on the world and future generations to come. Being a Christian is more than a trend or industry but a lifestyle of dying to your desires so that God can be glorified in all things. I want to be a voice for that type of change!
