Alisa FitzPatrick of Mt Juliet and Lebanon on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Alisa FitzPatrick. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Alisa, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
When I first wake up, I brush my teeth and my husband and I go for a walk. We walk any where from 1.5 to 2 miles a day. This is most important to me for a few reason. Not only are we moving our bodies, I am a huge believer of getting sunlight before 10am to get the most health benefits. Our dog, Smokey goes with us. Truth be told, she actually takes the lead. This is my time to be free from electronics and prepare my mind for the day. This is also time Troy and I can talk about life and reconnect. Once back home, I shower and get ready for my day. I am a little spoiled in the fact while I am getting ready my husband make us breakfast. Once I have finished my breakfast, it is time to start my day.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I struggled in school because of a learning disability, and that struggle followed me into adulthood. I believed I wasn’t smart enough, that no one would listen to me, and that I didn’t really know anything worth sharing. Troy and I did our best raising our three children, but when our two boys left for the military on the same day, my world turned upside down. I felt lost, like I had no identity. That’s when I decided to go to real estate school. I studied hard but failed the first test. I studied again and failed a second time. I was heartbroken, but I had one more shot. I studied. I prayed like never before. And on the third try, with God on my side, I passed with flying colors. That moment shattered the belief that I wasn’t smart enough. I know now: I am capable. I am enough.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You were made for more, so keep going. Life will bring hard things, but those challenges don’t define you. In fact, they become the very things that others will connect with most deeply. Through your testimony, you’ll find your community, your tribe, and realize you were never alone.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Years ago, I felt God place it on my heart to start a women’s ministry. I longed for a space where women of all ages and backgrounds could come together, be real, and share their past without judgment. What I needed and couldn’t find was a safe place where women could take off the mask, be honest about their struggles, and receive love and support in return. That’s where this vision was birthed: from the lack of that kind of space in my own life.

This ministry will be a place for women to let their guard down, find their community, and get healthy. whatever that looks like for them. I believe healing is not one-size-fits-all. For some, it’s emotional. For others, it’s spiritual, physical, or even simply rediscovering who they are outside of all the roles they carry. Society tells us that it’s normal to always pour out and never refill, but I believe that’s not how we were created to live.

In the beginning, I see this ministry starting small, perhaps with simple gatherings, small groups, prayer nights, or journaling exercises. As it grows, I envision hosting retreats, workshops, and eventually a women’s conference. It will be a faith-based space with an undertone of scripture, prayer, and encouragement. The focus will always be creating room for real conversations and personal breakthroughs. I want this to be a judgment-free zone where women feel safe enough to say, “Me too,” and receive the support they need to heal and grow.

I plan to start this on my own and build as God leads. I don’t have a team yet, but I believe that as the vision takes shape, the right people will be drawn to it. I hope that over time, women will begin to share their testimonies and that we’ll develop opportunities for coaching or mentorship. Ultimately, success for me isn’t measured in numbers, but in impact. If women find freedom, rediscover their dreams, and step into who they were created to be, that’s when I’ll know this ministry is doing what it was meant to do.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope the story people tell is that I poured my life into creating safe, hope‑filled spaces, whether that was a women’s circle, a living room, or a closing table. They’ll remember a Realtor who treated every move like her own 14th relocation, listening first, guiding with facts, and calming the chaos so families (especially our military heroes) could plant roots with confidence. They’ll say I laced up my hiking boots, literally and figuratively, to walk every acre and every mile beside my clients and my community, always willing to go the extra mile for what mattered to them.

They’ll recall that my faith showed up as compassion in action: the steady friend who spoke truth, championed dreams, and pointed people back to hope when life got hard. And they’ll know that beyond the contracts and keys, my legacy was measured in the women who found healing, the families who found home, and the countless lives touched by a relentless belief that everyone is made for more.
