We recently had the chance to connect with Amy Jack and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Amy, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Who are you learning from right now?
I’d say I’m learning a lot from my friends right now, just normal people trying to get through life, make a living, and figure out their purpose. I also learn a lot from my co-writers, like Don Goodman and Dwayne Hitchings, who wrote “Love’s a Force of Nature,” as well as my producer Billy Dawson. We’re all just out here trying to make a living doing what we feel called to do, which for us is music.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
As a singer-songwriter, my goal is to create music that’s thought-provoking, uplifting, and validating—something that can even be life-changing for people.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
I’d say my parents taught me the most about work ethic. My dad was on the front lines in the infantry and later started and ran his own business, making a real impact on people’s lives. My mom was a school teacher who worked full days and then came home to raise and care for four kids, teaching us just as much at home as she did in the classroom. I also learned a lot from my grandparents and teachers along the way. They all showed me the value of hard work and perseverance.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self to always remember that love is the greatest force there is. That’s actually what inspired my new single, Love’s the Force of Nature. At first, I had the idea just to call it Force of Nature, which came from something Merle Haggard once said about me when I was working on my album. But my co-writer Don Goodman suggested we take it further—because unlike storms or natural disasters that cause damage but eventually pass, love is eternal and infinite. I’d want my younger self to hold onto that truth—that love is stronger than anything else.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I really admire everyday people you’ve probably never heard of—the unsung heroes. For example, single mothers working two jobs just to provide for their kids. There are millions of people like that who are selfless, hardworking, and good citizens. They take care of their families, stay out of trouble, do what needs to be done, and harm no one. That kind of quiet strength and character is what I admire most.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
Ironically, I feel most at peace in nature when I’m surrounded by trees and birds singing.
