An Inspired Chat with Ariana Attigliato

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ariana Attigliato. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Ariana, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Yes! Lynn HR turned 5 this year, and as most business owners know- the first 5 are ROUGH! We have made SO many pivots, tough decisions, sacrifice time with our family, team turnover and the list goes on, but we’ve also been able to help create amazing places to work. Truthfully, that’s Jannis and I’s North Star. We want to make a positive impact on small to mid size businesses and we have over the last 5 years. I think the fact that most of our clients are still with us 4-5 years later is a testament to that fact.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi Everyone! I’m Ariana Attigliato, soon to be Ariana Middleton. I’m very excited to be marrying the love of my life in November. I’m still surprised love found me amidst running a small business and being a mom to an amazing 5 year old son. With that being said, balancing life with work is a huge part of what Lynn HR strives to help small to mid size business owners with in addition to their team. HR really has the benefit of sitting at the top of the business to see what areas we can offer assistance to throughout the employee life cycle (recruitment to offboarding) and what pressures our leaders need taken off their shoulders.

This summer we also launched Real Time HR! It’s been such an incredible program for our clients because it offers them the ability to schedule time with us (typically an hour, more if they need) on a reoccurring, monthly basis. It’s so easy to sign up. You just need to go to our website>Real Time HR> and that’s it! We’ve even had solo entrepreneurs sign up with us because they want to start setting themselves up to build a team.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
I would 100% say that the relationship with my mother, Jannis Muscato, who is also the President of Lynn HR, most shaped how I see myself. I have been beyond fortunate to have a loving, loyal, fierce and brilliant mother. She taught me what it looked like to have self-confidence and fostered the light inside. It’s an incredible honor to know that you ALWAYS have someone in your corner.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering and success are such interesting life experiences. At this point in my life, I have a lot of gratitude for the periods of my life that I experienced suffering whether it was in school, in business, in relationships etc.. As I reflect, those times really taught me what I valued, who I wanted to be or not be, admitting to or seeking help (which is not my forte), establishing healthy boundaries, and figuring out who really supports me as a whole person.

Success, however someone defines it, can sometimes feel like the end of a chapter or a place to be content which is needed throughout life’s journey, but those times have forged the person I am today.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
I LOVE this question because it can vary so widely depending on the type of person you ask. For me, what you see is what you get.

If it’s helpful for context, I am an Aquarius, a 2 on the Enneagram, ENFJ on the Myers-Briggs, and an I on the DISC evaluation in terms of some of the personality tests. I was born in New York and most of my family is from the North East even though I grew up on the diverse beaches of South Florida, so I don’t know there is a different way of being for me.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Making mistakes and conflict are genuinely a normal part of life it’s what you do with those situations that matters the most.
