An Inspired Chat with Aries Rivera of Alabama (for now)

Aries Rivera shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Aries, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
Yes, and it’s part of reconnecting with oneself. It’s an authentic form of personal perception, understanding, and reconnection. The path I’m on is one of reflection and personal desaturation.
In the end, all paths should lead us to better versions, better scenarios, better lives, and that’s what makes life more interesting. If you don’t feel that way, ask yourself if it’s the right path.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Aries, and I’m a fashionista and fashion consultant. I frequently attend fashion events in the United States, although I plan to expand my reach to other countries in the coming months, if not years. I love communicating creatively through my wardrobe, photography, and videos, and creating creative content for editorials and photography. I’m currently fine-tuning the details of my soon-to-be-launched creative agency, collaborating with talents and creatives with whom I feel comfortable and I can flow. My agency is @ariestudioc

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
It’s a very deep question, honestly. There have been times in my life when I’ve doubted myself and my abilities, but I’ve always had friends, colleagues, and even strangers who have made me realize who I am.
Years ago, I met an editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine in my home country, and he was the one who told me what I could achieve if I committed to it. I owe part of this journey in fashion to him.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
When I understood that imperfections were part of becoming better every day. Now I allow myself to fail, to feel, to be disappointed without fear of weakness.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
No, honestly.
I work with alter egos most of the time. In fashion, when it comes to public exposure, I lean toward Aries, who is my most important alter ego. I tend to be shy most of the time and unsociable, but with him it’s different. However, with my family, friends, and people I consider and allow to know me, I show myself as I am, without posing.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
The importance of always being authentic, of never letting yourself down, and of never accepting anything from anyone that doesn’t make you feel good. Of never getting people’s hopes up or playing with their dreams. Of knowing how to be honest and loyal.
