We recently had the chance to connect with Heather Jett and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Heather, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are kind of like mission control—organized chaos with a splash of caffeine. I’m usually up early, around 4:30–5:00 AM, going over the day’s schedule, checking in on any client updates, and making sure everything’s lined up for my team. By 6:30 AM, we’re loaded up, pep talked, and out the door.
I’m juggling logistics, answering texts, and making sure supplies—and people—are where they need to be. It’s fast-paced, but it sets the tone for the rest of the day. A smooth launch in the morning usually means a smooth ride for everyone. Plus, I secretly love that early morning hustle—it’s where the magic happens.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi there! I’m Heather, the owner of Jett’s Cleaning Service—and the wearer of many hats (along wit my husband Joe, who helps me keep this ship sailing) I’ve been running this business for over a decade, juggling scheduling, scrubbing, staff management, and all the magic behind making homes sparkle. We’re not just about wiping counters—we’re about restoring peace of mind and giving busy people the gift of walking into a clean, calm space.
What makes Jett’s Cleaning special? It’s personal. We treat our clients like family and their homes like our own. I’m a mom, a wife of 21 years, and someone who truly understands how chaotic life can get—so I’ve built a company that’s reliable, flexible, and rooted in kindness.
Lately, we’ve expanded into pet care with Jett’s Pet Care, run by my 16-year-old son, Lucas. It’s been amazing watching him grow into a role that lets him care for animals while learning what it takes to build something from the ground up.
We’re a small-town team with big hearts, and whether it’s mops or mutts—we’re here to help make life a little easier (and a lot cleaner).
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My mother and my grandfather—hands down. My mom was a single parent raising two young kids while working and putting herself through college. Watching her juggle all of that with determination and grit showed me what real perseverance looks like. And my grandfather? He’s one of the hardest-working men I’ve ever known. He taught me that no job is beneath you, and if you’re going to do something, you do it right the first time. Their examples laid the foundation for my work ethic and the way I run my business today.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You can’t please everyone—and that’s not your job. It’s okay to say no. It’s okay to protect your boundaries. Your worth isn’t tied to how much you do for others or how happy you make them. Your heart and intentions are good and pure, and you don’t have to prove that to anyone. You are enough, just as you are—and the right people will see that without asking you to shrink.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Kind of. Most people see me as outgoing and extroverted—and I can be, especially in work settings where I need to lead, connect, and show up big. But deep down, I’m more of an extroverted introvert. I genuinely enjoy solitude and quiet. Large social gatherings aren’t really my comfort zone, and after a full day of work or being around people, I definitely need time to recharge my social battery. So while the public version of me is real, it’s just one part of a much more introverted whole.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I truly believe I’m doing what I was called to do—serving God’s purpose in my own unique way. I went to college, earned my degree, and hold several certifications… and aside from my business degree, I’m not using most of them. But what I am using is my servant’s heart. Through my work, I care for people in a way that’s deeply personal and often vital to their peace, their routines, and even their happiness. It may not be what I thought I’d do, but I know it’s exactly what I was meant to do.
