Good morning Jaka, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I wake up and I pray and I just lay there for a minute to gather my thoughts be for I get my kids up for school.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jakia Mayberry. I am a small business owner of Kee’s Kitchenn. I specialize in chicken party wings and I have owned my business for 6 years. I believe what’s makes me different and unique is my ability to tap into my customers. I’m literally the long distant cousin that makes everyone feel welcomed. I love seeing smiles on their faces and their reactions to my food that I cook for them! It warms my spirit and lets me know I am doing a great thing!
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
A little girl with big dreams! I have always knew I was destined for something good I just didn’t know exactly what it would be! Cooking comes so natural for me it’s something I can do for free that’s how I know it’s what I need to be doing in life.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Never stop shooting for the stars— there will be many obstacles that you will encounter but if you just hold on a little longer and redirect your faith in God you will overcome everything you think you can’t do! You are resilient and ambitious! There is nothing that you cannot do!

All day long…. I’m not a pretender behind a screen. Some days I’m upset, some days I’m happy, and some days I just wanna be ugly at home with my wig off. I’m me! I love who I am and I don’t care how I’m viewed or what my past says about who I was. This is who I am now!
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
That we are human and we are not perfect! I don’t want people to be perfectionist around me I want them to be honest with themselves. Everything is not for everybody! We have to be okay with what our lane intels for us
