We recently had the chance to connect with Kyle Elliott and have shared our conversation below.
Kyle, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
Many fans equate streams, likes, or a packed local show with financial security, but streaming pays very little and most touring artists are far from the superstar economics people imagine.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Kyle Elliott, and I’m a country artist and relentless touring songwriter who’s been averaging around 300 shows a year while building a community, not just a fan base. The heart of my brand lives where authentic work ethic meets honest storytelling. I’m the same person onstage, on your playlist, and shaking hands after the show. What makes this journey unique is that I’ve treated my music career like a small business from day one—funding records and tours with side hustles, documenting the grind on social media, and inviting people to feel like they’re part of the story, not just watching it. Right now I’m focused on releasing new music, growing the fan base, and partnering with brands and platforms that actually fit the lifestyle my audience lives every day.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before anyone told me who I had to be, I was the kid who did what felt natural. I played, created, and imagined without worrying if it was impressive or “on brand,” and I loved music and the people around me simply because they made me feel alive. Back then, my value wasn’t tied to achievements or how productive I was; it was about being curious, present, and fully engaged in whatever I was doing. That version of me is still my compass today when I lose track of time doing something, when I’m not performing for anyone’s approval, that’s when I know I’m closest to who I’ve always been at my core.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be this. “You don’t need to be so scared, start now and do not wait, because time goes by too quickly. The fear you feel is normal, but it’s not a stop sign” it’s just proof that what you want really matters to you. You are far more capable than you think, and the opportunities you’re hesitating on today are the ones you’ll look back on and wish you had taken sooner. Trust your instincts, trust your passion, and give yourself permission to begin before you feel “ready,” because the only real mistake is letting moments pass you by.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is absolutely the real me. What you see on stage and in my music is who I am at my core, without any masks or personas. I’ve poured my authentic self into every song i’ve ever written, every live performance across 300+ shows a year.
There’s no separation between the artist you hear on my songs and the person writing these words. It’s all the same passionate, hardworking musician who’s unapologetically true to his sound and story. If anything, sharing my music publicly has made me even more committed to that authenticity, because pretending otherwise would betray the raw journey that’s defined my career.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had only 10 years left, I’d stop waiting for perfect conditions right away, like holding off on new music or tour dates until everything lines up just right. No more endless scrolling or overthinking posts that pull me away from writing and performing. I’d focus my time on the music that matters, cutting out the distractions to make every day count.
