We recently had the chance to connect with Anna Corona and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Anna, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Something that’s been bringing me a lot of joy lately is swimming. It’s such a great way to clear my mind, stay active, and feel refreshed. I love that it gives me time to unwind and reset outside of work.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi there! I’m Ana Corona, and I’m one half of Made in Glass TN, a small “mom-and-dad” artisan studio based right here in Nashville. We specialize in sandblasted drinkware—everything from coffee mugs and tumblers to whiskey glasses and tequila shots. What I love most is how each piece becomes a lasting keepsake, because our designs are carved into the glass or ceramic—not printed on top—so they never fade or peel.
Our aesthetic is deeply inspired by Tennessee — the landmarks, the vibe of Nashville, the southern charm. We create exclusive, original designs that reflect that spirit.
The business itself began in earnest in 2018, though the idea had been floating around for years. After having our son, we decided it was time to make it real. My husband handles the tools and the sandblasting process, while I focus on designing the stencils and visual concepts.
One thing that makes us special is how personal and handcrafted every item is. When someone sips from one of our mugs or glasses, I hope they feel a connection to Nashville, a bit of joy, and a memory. We’re always evolving—adding new styles and collections like our campfire stoneware mugs, mason jars, and classic drinkware.
Right now, my big goal is to get into more stores, coffee shops, artisan markets and festivals, so people can see and feel the pieces in person. I’m also working on expanding custom ordering, so folks can bring their own ideas or events and we’ll sandblast something meaningful for them.
Thank you for giving me a chance to share my story.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I think bonds break when trust or care is lost, like through lies or neglect. But I believe they can be rebuilt through honesty, empathy, and showing consistent support, because taking the time to really listen and care makes a big difference.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time I almost gave up during the pandemic. The uncertainty and sudden changes in daily life were overwhelming—work became unpredictable, social connections were limited, and it felt like everything I relied on was shifting overnight. There were moments when motivation and hope felt hard to find, and I questioned whether I could keep moving forward. What helped me push through was focusing on small, manageable goals, staying connected with supportive friends and family, and reminding myself that this period, though difficult, was temporary and that I could grow stronger by adapting and persevering.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is the real me. I try to stay genuine and consistent in how I present myself, whether I’m at work, with friends, or meeting new people. I believe authenticity builds trust and stronger connections, so I make an effort to show my true personality, values, and intentions wherever I go. Of course, I might adjust how I communicate depending on the situation, but the core of who I am—my beliefs, kindness, and honesty—remains the same.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m with my family. Being around them gives me a sense of comfort, love, and belonging that nothing else can replace. My family reminds me of what truly matters in life—connection, support, and unconditional love—and that’s when I feel completely at ease.
