Check Out Abigail Smith’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abigail Smith.

Hi Abigail, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Grew up always singing. I told my mother when I was little I would wear crowns and sing on stages. I still to this day am doing that recently competing in Miss USA Alabama getting top 15 and singing anytime I can. Starting in church then starting to use social media to post covers on tiktok after highs cool. I now have around 319k followers on Tiktok and two recently released Singles called “First Time” and “Christmas Kiss”. All of my social links are under @avofficially and artist name, “Abigail Virginia”. I started pursuing music full time in college currently majoring in Music Business and. minoring in Sales/Marketing. I sing/wtite my own music and working on releasing another original called “Spin it Like a Record” by the end of July or beggining of August 2022. I am still an independant artist but recently moved to Nashville for Internships and start getting plugged in the musioc scene! My genre is more Pop but write any genre!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been easy. I did not have a lot of access to opportunities for music where I am from in Springville, Alabama. I have been fortunate to meet friends and people to help me since college figure that industry out even though its conatnly changing haha. I have a very unique/deep voice that is unexpected from me as well. I wouldnt necessarily see this as a challenge becuase it makes me who I am but I have been made fun of and questioned my gender mutliple times because of this.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a singer, songwriter, content creatror. I am known for my unique and deep voice. People are shocked when they hear me since its very unexpected from how i look. I am most proud of my endurance, the industry is not easy and not for everyone but there is absolutley nothing else I would rather do. I love how I can be fully vulnerable in music and relate to others in this way. There is something about putting your story in a song that is so beautiful and raw. Life through a melody for people to hum. Music can evoke so many different emotions and mean so many different things for different people, and thats incredible. I dont do music for anything other than my own joy and love for it, and to help others. I believe that stands me apart.

What’s next?
I want to be a full time artist. I also want to be a writer for other artisrt as well. Then eventually turn around and help smaller artist that didnt have the resources or education like me in the music industry when I was younger. As far as my current “Plan”. I want to move to Nashville more long-term network, network, and release music and just enjoy the journey. Whats meant to be will be either way I will work as hard as I can and whatever is in Gods will for my life.
