Check Out Addison Colvin’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Addison Colvin

Hi Addison, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Launching Wofford Media has been a dream of mine in the making for quite some time. Let’s start with where my passion for photography was born. I received a camera in middle school for Christmas of which hasn’t left my side since, and have forever been wildly passionate about interior design. It wasn’t until just recently, upon graduation from UT Knoxville in May with a marketing degree, that I decided I would pursue the creative path of this and embark on my own journey of servicing the real estate and design markets with photography, videography, and content creation. Taking pictures has always been my favorite pastime, but figuring out that taking pictures of interior design specifically has changed the game of creating for me and made it that much more enjoyable. Photography and interior design have both always brought me so much joy and I am blessed to have been able to bridge these together and create the recipe to my dream career!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would not say that the road has always been smooth, but bumps are always part of the big picture and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Reaching out to people to seek advice and not hearing back would sometimes leave me frustrated, but I’ve always had to remind myself that these people have lives too and life can get crazy. Now being in their shoes for just roughly one month in the industry, the books get full, the to-do lists start to pile up, life starts to take a toll and you look up and see yourself in their shoes now realizing why there might have not been time left for things like this. Never take not hearing back from someone personal, stay patient, and the right connections will come along to propel you into success when the time is right. Besides this though, a daily challenge is just ensuring whatever space I am shooting is being portrayed through the lens the best it possibly can be as it is not my work, it is the designers. Lighting can sometimes be a challenge also as I like to predominantly shoot natural light, but sometimes you just have to work with what you got, understand nothing is perfect, but still try and get it as close to that as you can. The details that go into these projects are so intricate as they can sometimes take up to several years for them to be completely finished, so I have to always keep this in mind as well when shooting and it truly proves the power of pictures and how capturing such spaces should always be carefully and meticulously planned out.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Wofford Media is a creative agency based out of Franklin, Tennessee and offers photography, videography, and content creation services to the real estate + design markets. Elaborating on our services further, we are also Part 107 sUAS Remote Drone Certified. We specialize in creating tailored content for agents and designers alike in both residential and commercial spaces. Having the creative versatility to edit that photo or video of a living room that deserves moodier, warmer temperatures because of all of the textures + patterns, but to also go for a cleaner, more simplistic look on that bedroom which was designed more neutral-forward is what makes being behind the lens so fun! Navigating what style of content fits each project best and being able to coordinate with our clients to execute their creative visions is such a rewarding experience. We cannot emphasize enough how tailoring our content to reflect the vibe of each particular project has and will always be our top priority. Lastly, two words we strongly instill into any project we are working on is to make our content captivating and compelling. Whether it be a still image of a project we are photographing for a design client, or an instagram reel to help sell that latest listing for a real estate client, we ensure our content captivates the audience that it is meant to grab the attention of and compels them to engage with it.

What’s next?
My plans for the future are to just “ride the wave” as my mom tells me to do daily and see where life + God takes my business and I. I am already so thankful to have gotten the incredible opportunities that I have thus far and for those that have already trusted me with capturing their creative needs. I hope I only continue to get busier from here as I strive hard to get my name out there and establish a solid clientele in a world of so many insanely talented people. I love finding inspiration in fellow photographers and videographers and I will never be ashamed of that. I am a firm believer that creativity does indeed come from within but can equally come from who you are surrounded by. While offering all media services, I hope to one day be able to go full-force with photography only as this is where it all began and achieve my dream of getting featured in magazines like Architectural Digest, Luxe, Elle Décor, etc. Thanks for reading and this is about all she wrote for now folks!
