Check Out Aislin Walker’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aislin Walker.

Hi Aislin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Like most entertainers, I have always wanted to be a performer. From basically birth, I was introduced to music and film. I grew up watching everything from Monty Python to 2001 a space odyssey. I always wanted to be a musician and a director. When I was in my second year of High School, my theater teacher told us that we were starting to improve. He asked the class “Who would like to start our first activity”. I did not raise my hand but all the other theatre kids did and yet he turned to me and said “I want Aislin to do it”. I will never forget that moment of going in front of the whole class and making them laugh. It was like a drug that I was instantly addicted to.

I had been making little videos throughout my whole life, but during covid, I decided to start uploading more seriously on my YouTube channel Aislin Walker. It was as close as I could get to getting on stage and telling jokes, and I loved it. I also loved dressing up in retro style starting with the 80s moving to the ’50s and landing on my current style which is the late 60s/70s. Fashion is a huge part of my brand and I feel like it adds to the character that I do in my videos and on stage. I started streaming as well and absolutely fell in love with it. My goal is to continue making videos and growing my audience, and my ultimate goal is to make my own TV shows, and Ture doing Stand Up, and Music with a band.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has definitely been a bumpy road. Covid affected my goals A LOT. I could no longer on stage and perform like I used to, and it was had to film with other people. I was struggling a lot with school at the time, which did not help with the creative process. I also lived in Florida which I was not a fan of. I just felt very lost and did not know where I was going in life, and how I would reach my goals. One day my family and I went to Nashville for the first time to see one of my favorite bands named Sparks play.

I had no expectations for Nashville and at the time I was so lost and had not been uploading; I needed something to start that creative spark again. We walked through Nashville and I instantly felt like I belonged. It was like I met the love of my life and it felt as though we had known each other for years. Walking around Nashville gave me that creative spark that I had been longing for. After that, I started uploading more and streaming almost every day.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I guess you could consider me a comedian. I make videos in a stand-up style talking about stories from my life, as well as the strong opinions that I have. On occasion, I will make an “on the street” style video, which are my favorite videos to make, and also the videos I am most proud of. I also am known for my vintage 60’s/ 70’s style that yes… I always dress in.

I do Stand Up in real life and have been taught by Second City teachers. My style mixed with my angry North Easterner style of comedy makes for a really fun show that stays consistent yet fresh. I have been making music for a while but would love to meet people to start an official band (not just me). I also love Directing videos and can not wait for the short films I have on the way.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
You don’t always have to be creating all the time. You can take a second to enjoy life and get re-inspired. That is when your best Ideas will be made.
