Today we’d like to introduce you to Allen Clark.
Hi Allen, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in Hendersonville in my younger years and moved to Nashville in my early 20’s . Went to school for Communication and PR only to move into Photography after a brief stint in the Music Industry as an agent at The William Morris Agency . I also spent time as an agent/manager and I once had to negotiate with Robert Redfords Production Company for one of my artists who was in the movie “A River Runs Through It” starring Brad Pitt. (little known fact) As much as I loved the Music Industry I just wanted to be responsible for myself and really wanted my own thing – that’s when I decided to try photography because I had always loved it and had been doing it since Junior high . I knew early on that people would respond better to pics of others or celebs that they recognized so I went back to all the artists that I once repped and did whole photo shoots on a lot of them. The response was amazing and I have been a commercial photographer ever since.
This is from my bio:

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Having to reinvent myself over and over again throughout my career . Surviving 2-3 recessions and doing my best to stay relevant repeatedly over a 30 year period .
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve led two distinct lives: one as a businessman and the other as an artist. Living this duality has been challenging because it requires shifting one’s focus from one area to another, leading to a constant struggle to maintain momentum. I believe this conflict between art and commerce is a defining feature of our era. Despite this, I’ve had a successful career, which I consider prolific. My passion for people is the primary reason I chose to remain as a visual artist . I believe that my specialty lies in capturing and showcasing one’s true self in photographs or portraits, which sets me apart from others.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Being truly observant about your work and unbiased as much as possible .
