Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Burns.

Hi Alyssa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always had an interest in photography! I bought my first camera at 14 with all my saved up Christmas money. Since then, I have been able to grow my business through social media, my website, family and friends! I absolutely love being able to capture special moments for all my clients, and love the reactions I get once they see their full galleries!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say it’s been the easiest lol. It’s definitely a struggle when you’re first starting up to build a clientele that trusts you, and loves your work!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a part-time Esthetician, part-time Photographer! In my photography, I mainly specialize in portraits (family, senior, couple), but I also love doing car photography! I feel I am mainly known for the many locations I love to shoot at, and my car photography! I’m most proud of how far I’ve come by running my business all on my own. I’ve been able to grow my business from the ground up, and I truly believe that I’ve worked pretty hard to get to where I am today!

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I definitely can credit Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest lol! These apps have made it possible to pull myself out of a creative rut by offering ideas and inspiration for tons of shoots! As far as podcasts go, I can definitely credit Kurtis Conner’s podcast “Very Really Good” for giving me most of my humor and laughter on my car rides to shoots! I also can mention “Oh Shoot!”, which is a podcast by Cassidy Lynne. I definitely always fall back on this one for advice, help with my photography, and creativity!
