Today we’d like to introduce you to Ambi Shantay.
Hi Ambi, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
There are people who survive life’s hardest moments, and then there are people who transform those moments into purpose. I am doing the latter.
I am a minister, author, nonprofit founder, speaker, podcaster, content creator, wife, and mother, and I have spent years answering one question: “How can my healing become someone else’s hope?”
My journey didn’t begin with a microphone or a stage. It began in broken places.
Years ago, I walked through seasons that tested my faith- including infertility, a high-risk pregnancy, disappointments, and moments that forced me to depend on God in ways I never imagined. Instead of allowing pain to define me, I documented the lessons. Those experiences became books, beginning with my deeply personal memoir Healing Flows and continuing through devotionals and journals that have encouraged women across the country. My newest book, Wisdom in the Wounds, reminds readers that wounds don’t have the final word,wisdom does.
As my platform grew, so did my calling.
I founded Sisters in the Name of Christ, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women heal emotionally, spiritually, and personally. Through conferences, workshops, support groups, marketplace events, mentoring, and community outreach, I have created spaces where women don’t have to pretend they have it all together. They are invited to be honest, to heal, and to grow.
But I believe healing shouldn’t stay inside church walls.
That conviction gave birth to The Healing Space with Ambi Shantay, a podcast created to have authentic conversations about faith, healing, and purpose. Every episode invites guests to tell the stories many people are afraid to share—stories of heartbreak, restoration, identity, resilience, and God’s faithfulness.
What began as a podcast quickly expanded into a larger platform. After only one season, The Healing Space was picked up for radio broadcast on WDJY 99.1 FM in Atlanta, introducing my mission to an even wider audience while continuing to stream online and reach listeners through YouTube.
My conversations are intentional. Whether I’m interviewing pastors, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, survivors, or everyday people with extraordinary testimonies, I create an atmosphere where vulnerability becomes strength and healing becomes possible.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Perhaps one of my greatest challenges has been learning to heal while leading. People often assume that those who encourage others have it all together, but I’ve discovered that authentic leadership isn’t about perfection. It’s about allowing God to use your scars as evidence of His faithfulness.

What sets me apart isn’t that I’ve experienced hardship. Many people have. It’s that I made the decision not to waste my pain. Every setback, every disappointment, every unanswered prayer became an opportunity for God to develop compassion, wisdom, and purpose within me. Today, I don’t just speak about faith. I strive to live it in a way that helps others believe healing is possible for them too.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
People don’t realize that I continue to do my own healing work. I don’t believe healing is something we arrive at once and never revisit. It’s a lifelong journey of surrender, growth, and allowing God to refine every area of our lives. A never- ending journey. The spaces I create for others exist because I understand what it feels like to need one myself.
Behind every book I’ve written, every podcast episode I’ve recorded, and every event I’ve hosted is a woman who still seeks God’s direction daily. My greatest desire has never been recognition. It’s faithfulness. If my life can point someone back to hope, healing, and purpose in Christ, then I know I’ve fulfilled the assignment He’s given me.
