Check Out Amir Fabiani’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amir Fabiani.

Hi Amir, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Music originally started for me in 2014 when I was programming Video Games. I started making my own music for those projects, and it escalated from there. When I turned 16, I got a job at Panera to start getting myself equipment. One of my first purchases were PA Speakers so I can start DJ’ing for local schools and quit Panera.

After High School, I went to Kent State University in Ohio for Computer Science. Throughout my one year, I primarily focused on music the entire time. Recording out of my dorms, producing for a few artists and bands as well as my own music. I ended up dropping out with a 1.2 GPA and went to a local Community College in Pittsburgh for one semester before dropping out of that as well.

I ultimately decided if I was going to do music seriously, I need to be in a music capitol. And that’s when I packed up my Kia Soul and drove 8 hours to Nashville in early 2020. I enrolled in Dark Horse Institute and continued working with the clients I had. After graduating, I started getting connected with serious professionals and clients in the industry, which led to the opportunities I’m working on today!

I’m leaving out a few boring parts, like how the pandemic affected everything for me, or my car breaking down and out of jobs, the struggle was real. It was very hard to overcome financially, but people started recognizing me and my name started spreading locally and online.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely NOT. I was forced out of a job when I moved to Nashville because of the tornado that hit Top-Golf (where I was working at the time), then quarantine hit shortly after it re-opened. I only worked one day.

I had to DoorDash to keep afloat, but after doing that for a few months, my car broke down. Out of a job yet again. I had to come up with a new game plan, and luckily for me, I was able to start making serious money off of music. I ended up Care-Taking a songwriter with Cerebral Palsy part-time to help out with funding. I’d work with him half the week, and run my studio the other.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Other than making music as an artist (At Most Fears), I’m a contract Record Producer, Mixing Engineer, and DJ. I specialize in Dark Alternative Pop, Pop-Punk, Rap, and electronic music. Being in Nashville expanded my style, which led me to working on a few Country Pop, Metal, Indie, and Jazz records.

I’m particularly proud of my song “Remember Me” which was released in March 2022. Blending multiple styles into my own resulted in a unique take on modern Alternative Pop with Pop-Punk influence.

People have compared my sound with artists like Post Malone, Chase Atlantic, XXXTentacion, MGK, The Neighourhood, and Nothing.Nowhere.

Currently, I’m working for Upchurch right now as his engineer.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
