Check Out Antjuan Johnson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antjuan Johnson.

Hi Antjuan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born and raised in Nashville, it’s no surprise Antjuan “Kyd Dynomyte”Johnson landed his first career opportunity playing bass in a local nightclub he worked at. At the green age of 15, he went from washing dishes, to playing for a variety of artist that would frequent the popular Nashville R&B venue. It was during this time, that Antjuan had found his true passion, all while learning the ropes from those who were industry veterans around him. \n\nSince then, Antjuan has toured and worked in the studio with artists and professionals such as Keb Mo, Jelly Roll, Gordon “Commissioner Gordon” Williams, and many others. A multi-instrumentalist with many talents, he also works as a singer-songwriter, and producer. After years of “hired gun” work under his belt and a change of heart, Antjuan is eager to share his own music with the public. He’s spent many years on the road, and he now wants to tell these stories through his music. Antjuan’s down-home Tennessee roots are seeped deep within his singing, songwriting, and playing. He draws from a variety of genres such as blues, soul, singer-songwriter, and hiphop, but the core of his music is heavily focused on emotional storytelling. \n\n2024 brings the turning of a page for Johnson, as he shifts his focus to captivating an audience and fan base who will appreciate honesty in his lyrics, passion in his playing, and a place to call home in his voice.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Music hasn’t been a smooth road. There wasn’t a clear path for me in the industry. I had to pick up several skills in order just to keep working. One day I would be the artist in a session; the next day I’d be the runner and cleaning up after another artist’s session was over. From being on the tour bus to the driver of the van. The downs were the biggest benefits though. They taught me the most.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a professional bass player and producer. I specialize in touring and session work as musician. As a producer i produce a wide range of genres from Pop to Country. I’ve also ventured out as an artist and have released several singles. I think I’m mostly known for my production work. Being in several genres has exposed me to a variety of audiences. I am most proud of my success as a musician. It has allowed me to travel the world and experience so much. What sets me apart the most is my adaptability. Having to wear many hats has turned me into sort of chameleon. Being able to bring value to the art no matter the genre has been my biggest asset
