Today we’d like to introduce you to Blane Rudd.
Hi Blane, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Almost everyone on my Mom’s side of the family plays some type of instrument or sings. So, it’s been a big part of my life since I can remember. I started playing the bar scene around Auburn Alabama at 19 and built a sturdy fan base in the area of laying covers before I started writing my own music.
In 2018, I released a song called, “Fake I.D. And You”, which started the traction of me being able to come into Nashville and write with some of those guys. In a way, you can say the hard work didn’t start until 2018.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The only struggle I can really think of is trying to play catch up a few years displaced from when I should’ve moved to Nashville. I got a late start, so I had already started a family in Opelika, Al. Putting out music from there and trying to play shows to stay relevant, along with a full-time job is tough.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My songs have a weird blend of melodic structure and vocal cadencing that stems from years of playing in a cover band.
Been able to share the stage with tons of big artists such as Luke Combs, Dustin Lynch, Justin Moore, Thomas Rhett, Dierks Bentley, and more.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I’m still working a full-time job as a lineman at an Electric Cooperative in my hometown.
