Check Out Chantel Marie’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chantel Marie.

Hi Chantel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Growing up, I always knew my love for everything Beauty flowed through my veins. From getting into my aunt’s makeup at a young age to cutting my Barbies hair & my American Girl Doll that I begged for years (sorry grandma).

Oh, and I also had a crazy great aunt who talked me into cutting her hair at the thanksgiving dinner table when I was about 6-7 years old. (Thanks, Aunt Barb. May you rest peacefully in heaven).

As a teenager, I took over glamming up all of my girlfriends for any & every occasion. After moving to Tennessee from New York at the age of 15, I decided to get more serious about it & began my search for furthering my education in the beauty industry.

After high school, I attended Paul Mitchell the school of Murfreesboro where I graduated at the top of my class in the Phase II program. My dream was to be a platform artist & travel all over the world! My travel dreams were quickly put on the back burner & I graduated from Paul Mitchell 9 months pregnant.

After having my son, I took 2 years off to stay home with him. Since coming back to pursue my dreams, I am now a business owner, educator, mentor, etc. I strive to be a powerful influence on women in business. I take great pride in hearing personal testimonies from my clients on how I have inspired them & changed their lives.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Ohhhh is any road smooth? HA! I truly believe in taking “the road less traveled”. Solitude has become very comforting while pursuing my dreams. The biggest struggle for me is balancing my home life & my work life. I absolutely LOVE what I do.

Every single day. I am so incredibly grateful to have a career where I never have to dread going to “work” every day. I wake up knowing that this is what I was made for. So naturally, it’s addicting for me.

It has been such a blessing for all of my hard work to pay off so I can be home with my son as much as humanly possible while he is still so young. Time is a thief. So for now, I practice “balance”.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I started out in the beauty industry as a Hair Stylist & Makeup Artist.

Throughout that part of my career, it began with cuts & colors, lots of bridal & prom makeup… then eventually, I fell in love with hair extensions & fashion colors. I was voted “Best Make-up Artist” in 2018 for Murfreesboro’s Main Street awards. About 5 years into my career I continued my education & became a Lash Extension Artist as well.

At this point of my journey, I mainly focus on Cosmetic Makeup. In 2018 I became a licensed tattoo artist & turned to a new direction in the beauty industry where I offer Microblading, Ombré Brows, Lip Blushing, & Semi-permanent freckles.

This year I have plans to continue my education & expand my skills to offer Scalp Micropigmentation, Stretch mark camouflaging, eyeliner, & 3D areolas. My ultimate goal is to be able to give back more to the community than this incredible industry has given to me.

I really pride myself on as being authentic as possible. I truly believe in being totally transparent with my clients when it comes to their expectations as well as what they can expect from me as a person. I don’t believe in the “new normal” of beauty standards.

I love to encourage my girls to try new things & to really trust that it is in my best interest to have them leave my salon feeling their “best self”.
