Today we’d like to introduce you to Chase Stetson.
Hi Chase , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
From my earliest memories, music just drew me in. I grew up on a mix of Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash, mixed in with a whole lot of rock. My mom loves to tell how, at just three, I was totally hooked on Nirvana, watching “Nirvana Unplugged” over and over, singing every word and trying to mimic Kurt’s guitar riffs.
When I was 14, I faced some pretty heavy medical challenges. Music and my faith became my steady anchors, helping me navigate those incredibly difficult times. It was during that period, at 15, that I wrote my first song. Through God’s grace, I recovered, and from that moment on, I’ve never stopped singing, writing, or playing guitar.
After high school, there was no doubt music was what I wanted to do. So, a little over a year ago, I made the jump and moved to Nashville. It certainly hasn’t been easy; I’ve had my share of face plants, but each one has taught me so much, pushing me to grow as a musician and an individual. This city, with its incredible talent, is truly the best place to be humbled and to learn. I feel incredibly blessed by the opportunities that have come my way, particularly the chance to collaborate with my producer, Kent Wells. His mentorship, his constant challenge to push me further, and, most powerfully, his genuine belief in me, it’s something I still find hard to fully grasp.
My first tour, sharing the stage with the ridiculously talented Ramblers, was a huge success. I’ve already released a couple of singles, and now, I’m deep in the studio, working on my debut album.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a bumpy road, with health struggles and more than a few stumbles, but I wouldn’t change a thing. I truly believe our struggles are what mold us into the people we’re meant to become, and that nothing worth having ever comes easy.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I think what sets me apart is the different sound of my music. I draw from a broad range of genres I love, and I believe listeners can hear that in my songs. When I perform, my goal is for people to really feel something. Life can be incredibly tough, and if I can help folks forget their troubles for even a little while, then I’ve done my job. Every time I step on that stage, I want to give them absolutely everything I’ve got.
What matters most to you?
More than anything, I want to be the best person I can be and use my music to make people feel something. Music has been my lifeline through so much, and my ultimate goal is for my songs to do the same for others
