Check Out Chrissy Webb’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chrissy Webb

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Chrissy Webb, and I am the founder of NWSLville, a supporters group for women’s soccer in Middle Tennessee. My love for the beautiful game started when I watched one of the 2011 Women’s World Cup matches. That was a game-changer for me!

The next year, I moved to Nashville for work and went to my first USWNT match. The atmosphere was electric, and the fans were so passionate. It was an amazing experience, and I realized that soccer isn’t just about supporting a team. It’s about being part of a community that shares a love for the game.

As a soccer fan, you go through a journey. You find your favorite club(s), player(s), and local supporters group. My journey started with the USWNT, and I went to watch parties hosted by the American Outlaws Nashville Chapter. Those experiences were so much fun, and I ended up forming NWSLville Supporters with some other fans.

In 2017, the NWSL and Lifetime teamed up, and that made our dream come true. We started hosting public watch parties to get more people interested in women’s soccer in our community. It was a great way to bring people together and share our love for the game.

One of the cool things about NWSLville Supporters is that we support multiple NWSL clubs. It’s a bit like a big soccer family, and we all cheer for each other.

While I have loyalties that extend across the NWSL, Nashville will always hold a special place in my heart as the vibrant city known as Music City. Nashville is a city that passionately embraces soccer, with its own MLS Nashville Soccer Club and the WPSL Nashville Rhythm FC club. This year Nashville is in the top 5 for expansion with the help of a great group of investors, HerGame Nashville.
Until we have a local club I will count on to support as much women’s soccer in our area and grow our community remains steadfast, whether from afar or by traveling to various cities to cheer on my favorite clubs. I can’t wait for the opportunity to proudly represent the women’s side of the sport in our remarkable city.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The struggle to find women’s sports playing in bars and restaurants.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a mental health counselor for first responders and their family members.

I am the most proud of being home or with holding scared space for others.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
The luck of finding the same passion for women’s soccer in others.
