EG&MC, is a craft cocktail & tapas bar and the brainchild of Slim + Husky’s owners Clint Gray, Derrick “Mo” Moore, and E.J. Reed, with the bar expertise of Gemaal Pratts, owner of Aperitif Events & Cocktails located on Historic Jefferson Street. They recently opened with all the swag you would expect from these Nashville natives. Located in the old Garden Brunch Cafe building, it is a complete transformation of the culture.
Custom speakeasy-inspired furniture, local artwork intentionally placed throughout, and a tapas menu merging southern-inspired favorites in innovative new ways. The space should feel like a family reunion every day. The music is a vibe and is full of beautiful people.
The owners are truly able to revel in what they created with the people who have an appreciation of good music, art, fashion, food, and of course cocktails. With indoor and an fun outdoor patio, it’s a great spot, feels like a part of the real Nashville. What a testament and this is definitely a spot you will need to add to your list asap, and will want to keep coming back.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
“In a lot of people’s minds, the restaurant industry has recovered from COVID and the shutdowns, mandates, and restrictions are over,” says Moore. “But we really feel like we have a good two more years before the restaurant industry can really recover and people get back to a normal social life.”

The Tennessee State University grads started a swanky cocktail bar as a way to serve truly unique cocktails while revitalizing Historic Jefferson Street all the while preserving the historical and musical history of Jefferson Street.
“We just want to be a part of this street as much as possible and continue to develop and have a footprint in this community and keep good vibes”.
