Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Mooney
Hi Elizabeth, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am from Long Island, NY. Dancer since the age of 2 and has taught fitness for over 10 years now. Produced and directed her own Off Broadway show and has owned her own dance studio in NY. She moved to Nashville, TN, where she now resides and has opened Country Fusion® Headquarters. Elizabeth is a successful Entrepreneur with instructors all over the world teaching Country Fusion, a professional dancer, choreographer, and a highly experienced dance instructor. You can catch her dance choreography with some of today’s top Country Artist’s and dancing on Broadway in Nashville.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not lol
In my 20’s I was a victim of identity theft, divorced, single mom since 5 1/2 months pregnant, adversity when in Nashville (called a yankee). Banned from a honky tonk, switched my business model from fitness to tourism.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Country Fusion is a line dance fitness. I had this vision 8 years ago and realized there was no country fitness program out there. Country Fusion uses actual line dances fused with 4 non country songs/dances. I have instructors all over the world and tour with the top fitness companies. It’s where “sneakers and water bottles meet whiskey and cowboy boots”. What you learn in class you take to the honky tonk at night. I also just released Country Fusion Aquatics, line dancing in the pool. “It’s a pool party”
What sets me apart is my dance training and experience from NY. I have been in this business my whole life. Dance, entertainment, acting, an entrepreneur, so having my head quarters in Music City makes sense.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Covid put my plans in motion to head to Nashville. That time of me not being so busy up north sent my plans to action to open Country Fusions headquarters in Nashville. Also, I was doing zoom while teaching so that transitioned nicely when coming here and my ladies up north were still able to zoom with me and able to offer zoom to others from all over the world.
