Check Out Emily Myers’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Myers

Emily, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in a small town in the Missouri Ozarks, where I first fell in love with music—playing in church and performing in community theater. From an early age, I was hooked. I couldn’t get enough of being on stage and soaking up everything I could about music.

I started writing songs as a teenager, but it wasn’t until college that I built up the courage to share them with others. The response changed everything. My peers encouraged me to take my songwriting seriously, and that push eventually led me to Nashville.

For the past few years, I’ve been grinding—writing, performing, and doing everything I can to share my music. It’s been a journey of hard work, growth, and chasing a dream, but I never forget where it all started—with a small-town girl just trying to figure out what she had to say.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road—but I think that’s what makes the journey worth it.

Like a lot of artists, I’ve had to navigate self-doubt, financial struggles, and the reality of working in an industry where nothing is guaranteed. Moving to Nashville was a leap of faith, and while it’s been incredible, it also came with its fair share of setbacks—playing to empty rooms, hearing “no” more times than I can count, and learning the hard way that talent alone isn’t enough. You have to show up every day, put in the work, and keep pushing even when it feels like no one is listening.

Beyond the industry challenges, my personal experiences have shaped my music in ways I never expected. I’ve been through heartbreak, dealt with people who weren’t who they pretended to be, and had to unlearn a lot about who I thought I had to be in order to succeed. Those struggles have made me a stronger songwriter and performer because I know what it’s like to feel lost, stuck, or unheard—and that’s exactly who I write for.

It hasn’t been easy, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Every challenge has pushed me to grow, and at the end of the day, I know I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an artist and songwriter, but more than that, I’m a storyteller. My music blends raw emotion with vivid storytelling, drawing from real-life experiences. I am influenced by country and Americana styles similar to Brandi Carlile, Kacey Musgraves, and Bonnie Raitt.

I specialize in songs that hit you right where you feel it most—whether it’s the confession in my song “Marilyn” or the resilience in my song “Olives.” My music isn’t just about telling my story; it’s about giving a voice to anyone who has ever felt lost, stuck, or like they had to be someone they weren’t just to fit in.

One of the things I’m most proud of is the connection I’ve built with my audience. I’ve played hundreds of concerts, sharing my music as authentically as I can, and I love the way those moments turn songs into conversations. That deep, personal connection is what sets me apart—I don’t just perform for people; I create music with them in mind.

At the end of the day, what makes me different isn’t just the music—it’s the mission. I want my songs to feel like a friend sitting next to you, reminding you that you’re not alone. That’s what I do, and that’s what keeps me going.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
If you’re a songwriter or musician, I’m always open to collaborating—whether it’s co-writing or creating a new track together together. I love working with people who have a story to tell and a passion for music that feels real.

For fans and supporters, the best way to help is by streaming my music, sharing it with friends, and joining my community. You can sign up for my email list on my website to get exclusive updates (and even a secret song!), come to a live show, or just send a message letting me know how my songs have connected with you—I love hearing your stories.

No matter how we connect—through a song, a show, or a conversation—I’m grateful for every person who’s part of this community I’m building.
