Check Out Emily Noel’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Noel.

Emily, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey started with heartbreak and the end of my marriage in 2017. I have been doing music my whole life but it wasn’t until the unexpected end of that relationship that I decided to start living for me and really start to do something with my music. In 2017 I started recording and releasing my own music for the very first time. I threw myself into my craft and put a band together and started playing around the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. After having some success in my hometown with gigging and recording, I headed to Nashville for the first time in September of 2019 to attend the Josie Music Awards with 4 nominations. Before that trip was over, I made a promise to myself that when my lease was up in June of 2020 that I was going to start fresh and move to Nashville to really pursue my dream and passion. Nashville is where I felt like I belonged for the first time in a really long time and I knew this was where I was meant to be. Just a few weeks before Covid hit I attended the Lehigh Valley Music Awards with 5 nominations and began to tell everyone my plans of moving to Music City. I knew that the more I told people and talked about it out loud the more of a reality it would be. Despite the hardships and unknown that covid brought, I continued to follow through with my plan and followed my heart to Nashville. On June 1, 2020 I left my apartment in Bethlehem, PA with everything that fit in my car and drove the 12 hours to start my new life and continue my music career. My debut single from Nashville is called Hometown Hero, an homage to the day I moved and to all the people that always supported me back home. It can be found on all digital platforms for streaming and download. Stay tuned for more music being released in 2022!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely been touch and go. Covid put a major wrench in things for the first 6 months to a year I have been here. It was hard to get out and meet people and network. The last 6 months have been truly amazing. I have been out gigging with my band and couldn’t be happier.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What do I do…hmm well I sing my heart out! I’ve been known for my fire red hair, spunky personality, and sultry vocals. My genre is country/rock with a twist of pop. I think what sets me apart is my diverse setlist. I can go from singing Miranda Lambert to Nirvana.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I am currently reading “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron. I was turned on to this book by local artist, Bre Kennedy at her album release show. The book helps you through a spiritual path of your higher creativity and prompts you to journal every day. It has been a really cool process so far and has actually taught me a lot about myself in doing so. I recommend this book to any artist out there that is looking to dive in deeper to themselves.
