Check Out Heather Ford’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Ford.

Hi Heather, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My Fair Fête is an event planning and design business that was conceived after planning my own wedding in 2018. I was heavily involved in corporate event planning at the time and decided to translate those skills into something that reflected my style and vision more appropriately. I recognized how much I enjoy the event planning and design process because it’s the perfect blend of creativity and tangible execution. My Fair Fête launched in San Diego; my husband and I moved to Nashville shortly thereafter and I’ve been exploring and building my brand here ever since.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been incredibly challenging figuring out what clients want and how to market to them. Nashville is the nation’s number one bachelorette party destination, as well as home to many beautiful wedding venues. I am currently in the process of shifting my gears to focus more on this particular niche. As a one-woman show, I have to pick and choose how to spend my time and what makes the most sense. I am constantly learning and making the rules up as I go, which is both gratifying and strenuous.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in luxurious celebratory events – birthday parties, bachelorette parties, baby showers, weddings. I elevate special events with a clear design concept, a comprehensive colour palette and fine-tuned details to make every component pop the day of an event. I also offer chalkboard and word art design for businesses and events alike. No chalkboard is too big or small to make a dazzling impression on your clients and guests! Creating beautiful moments with extravagant design details and communicating effectively with my clients are my greatest strengths in the event planning industry.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I grew up road-tripping across America every summer with my family. We spent many hours in the car and put in many miles on the road. I have so many fond memories of early morning sunrises, doughnuts from gas stations, Jackson Browne on the radio and playing “I Spy” with my sisters. We would usually camp, which gave me the opportunity to become familiar with many national parks at a young age. My favourite place to visit was Lake Almanor in Northern California, where we would have extended family reunions regularly. I loved skipping rocks with my cousins and roasting marshmallows with my grandparents.
