Today we’d like to introduce you to Jada Vance.
Hi Jada, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was encouraged by a friend’s mom to audition for American Idol when I was 15. I did and made it to Hollywood with the golden ticket. I had never sang or had lessons or anything except singing with family or at church. My mom said if you can make it that far we will use that as a marketing tool and it gave me my platform. From there I have been working writing and performing any and everywhere.
I have been trained by Linda Davis and mentored by Teddy Gentry from Alabama. I have been fortunate to open for people like Little Texas, Travis Tritt, Darlye Singletary, Claire Dunn, and Chase Rice.
I have released 5 projects with the latest being my single, Runnin’ Away. I am extremely excited with my next single coming out titled, “WHY'” I am sure it is a song a lot of people can relate to.
I play shows at Bar and Grills, Distilleries, Casinos, Private shows, to Pizza Pubs and Festivals. Which are some of my favorites because it’s all ages. This season is looking encouraging with the covid restrictions beginning to looses up a bit.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We don’t call it a rough road we call it valleys and seasons. And yes, there has been struggles. I am not famous! I am not a amateur! So that puts me in the middle of the road. Some won’t hire me because I’m not famous to pull in a big crowd. How do you get famous if you can’t get in front of crowds? Some want the opposite, but because I was on American Idol, I don’t fall into that category either. I mean it is a huge ocean with lots of fish, I am only one small fish. But I make sure every opportunity I make a huge splash and keep working my butt off.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I can say from most of my interviews I hear how people recognize my work ethics. I am a hard worker and I put 120% into what I am doing.
I am a new mommy and fiancé, planning a wedding in May but none of that has slowed me down. I performed up until my Dr. put me off work and I was writing and planning for the new tour season while off. I have put together a band of amazing people. All whom have professional careers and are just all-around genuinely great guys and work equally hard at making this whole thing go around.
I write and record my own music and pride myself in professional pictures and videos and giving people quality product.
On top of music, I am a district manager of Holly Ray Boutique.
What does success mean to you?
Everyone asks if I want to be famous like Carrie or Taylor. I say I feel successful if people enjoy my music and love coming to my shows. I don’t have to be a superstar to be successful…but don’t get me wrong, that would be incredible.
True success would be making enough money with my music that I wouldn’t have to work multiple jobs.
Although it has been a desire to own my own boutique so I am pretty happy where I am with that aspect of my life too.
