Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeffrey Johnson

Hi Jeffrey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The story behind the band God’s Soldier is a long one but I’ll give you the good stuff. I was born and raised in Florida. Finished high-school with baker county Sr high. After graduating I enlisted in the army and learned how to serve the country. Trying to continue the family tradition and failing I Had tried my hand at corrections while still living in Florida. It was a few years after being employed I decided to take my passion for music and make a couple songs. Though I didn’t have much luck I ended up leaving the department of corrections after 8yrs and came to sneedville tn. Here I was put in contact with Matt Smile who helped me create the album we have today. The album is my testimony in my walk with God. Through the times of not following and falling off the wagon to where I am now. I found and married my wife in 2018 and we moved here with our daughter. She has been the biggest supporter in following this call on my life and pushes me to continue serving God through this ministry and the music I have. Shortly after the album was finished I met a few good men and formed the band God’s Soldier. Together we bring the word and love to life through our music. We uplift others with the word and encourage people when they are at their lowest.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely not been a smooth road. What with me going from job to job since moving from Florida to dealing with hard struggles with my marriage. My wife and I together pursue God in our own way but it has brought us together stronger then before. I am thankful for her in so many ways and proud of the amazing person and mother she has become

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m the lead vocalist and lyricist for the band. I love how I could put my pain and struggles into each song. It connects with so many people and I hope and pray it gives them strength to keep pushing harder and go further with God and their own lives

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
We as God’s Soldier want you to know that you may think you are in the darkest times in your life but there is hope. If God can save me from taking my own life and giving up and turning my life into what it is. Imagine what he can do with you if you just trust in him. Let him break whatever chains you may have and let him be the change you need. Let him bring you out of your comfort zone, there may be doubt but if you keep the faith and let him turn you heart of stone into a flame burning so strong, you’ll end up with a love so pure and permanent like a tattoo, and be on your way from you old life and into something new. Keep pushing don’t quit, after all you are God’s Soldier.
