Today we’d like to introduce you to Jess Nanto.
Hi Jess, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started making jewelry in 2020 in an effort to help support my two daughters. I quickly fell in love and decided to start my own jewelry company in 2024 (while pregnant with my third girl)! I love helping people custom create the perfect piece, whether it’s permanent jewelry or our custom lockets. I treasure the community I have made and the people who are so vulnerable and let me see little glimpses into their lives.
I’m proud of my products and stand behind them. I use 14k gold filled and sterling silver jewelry.
I’m also so thankful that I’ve been able to find a fun little niche in the fitness community. I love being active and I need jewelry that can keep up. It’s been great partnering with multiple fitness brands and sharing that with others. We do pop ups with Barre3, Burn Boot Camp (Hendersonville, east Nashville, and Mount Juliet), neighborhood barre Gallatin, pure sweat sauna studio (12 south, the gulch, belle meade). We’ve also gotten to work with other amazing small business. And even a few larger names – Madewell, Vici, Lilly Pulitzer, Love Shack Fancy (Nashville, Charlotte, Palm Beach).
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, there are always ups and downs in a small business. I also chose to start it while pregnant with my third daughter, which I ended up having a risky pregnancy. I was going to weekly ultrasounds and appointments my entire second and third trimester. Every week we would decide whether or not to induce. It definitely added a layer of stress to my first year of business. It was a little difficult balancing work and motherhood. But my kids always come first and ultimately everything turned out fine and my perfect baby turns one in February!! That’s actually the biggest reason I started this business. I needed something tha helped bring in income, but allowed me to be home as much as possible & to choose my own schedule.
I have three girls and two step children. I homeschool my older two girls. My husband is a Lt. for Gallatin Fire Department so we need flexible schedules.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Permanent jewelry is jewelry that is made without a clasp! We literally welded the jump ring shut. It is painless and takes less than 5-10 minutes per guest. We use 14k gold filled and sterling silver. So nothing is plated and you don’t have to worry about it turning. We stand out in quality & service. We also generally carry double the chain options as most competitors.
Our lip gloss charm bar is also very popular. We have our own lip oil collection made under our own label. It’s soy based. We have a charm bar where people pick charms and we personalize these lip glosses and creat the perfect accessory / key chain.
Custom lockets are our newest installment. We onsite print your photos at events and create a lasting memory.
