Hi Jonathan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Xplore Nashville LLC was formed with the idea to provide a complete hospitality service to Nashville tourism and lifelong locals. I started with one Airbnb in 2017 and have since grown to 3 Airbnbs, 2 limousines, and 2 medspa locations. I noticed tourism to Nashville began exploding around 2015 and wanted to engage that market. Nashville is a vibrant city boasting the best music in the country and a culinary experience that can compete with any city in the US! The goal is to become an all-inclusive, one-stop-shop for tourism to Nashville. From housing to transportation to itinerary planning, I wanted to offer products and services that catered to tourists and locals wanting a staycation. I enjoy cultivating wonderful Nashville experiences. During medical school, I also studied to complete an Executive MBA. This knowledge and experience allowed me to be a full-time Anesthesiologist and owner of XploreNashville LLC. XploreNashville strives to bring a unique, luxurious, and unforgettable Nashville experience by providing luxury Airbnb properties, limo transfers, medspa treatments, and individually curated plans to your specific group to maximize your enjoyment of Music City! We host everything from brunch parties, airport transfers, Airbnb stays, and botox/spray-tans to all-inclusive package deals that utilize our services.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Several struggles. I had to find a team of cleaners and property managers to run the Airbnbs. This was a bit challenging as cleaners sometimes do not show up on time or don’t clean everything to a high standard. I found myself constantly reading and researching cleaning methods that are efficient and cost-effective. And when I bought the limos, I had to understand the liability insurance needed and manage the upkeep and maintenance of my vehicles and the 2 limousines. I did have an experience where the starter went out on one limo and had a leak in the gas tank—both costly to repair and fix as limousines require a special tow truck. And dealing with the city on all the proper permitting for Airbnbs and operating the limousines within the law was challenging. I am now dealing with the new challenge of finding out how I can legally operate with giving IV sedation to my clients at my medusas. It will be a unique challenge to ensure I can provide sedation for botox, fillers, etc., and safely provide sedation for clients who prefer a little anti-anxiety medication to provide a tranquil experience while enhancing their appearance. But Nashville has helped me solve these problems with wonderful people! I am lucky to work with wonderful cleaners, handypersons, drivers, and esthetics staff!

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Adaptability. In any major crisis or world event, you have to be able to adapt and change to meet the market needs. We had to change the way we booked and cleaned our Airbnbs. We changed our refund policy. We learned that without tourism, our market would not exist. Covid directly impacted our bottom line. But like all economic cycles, it would rebound, and explore Nashville would be back on track!
