Check Out Josh Jordan’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Jordan.

Hi Josh, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m an actor, as well as a singer/songwriter, from Nashville, Tennessee.

I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. I decided to join my high school’s theater program, and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. After immersing myself in theater and show choir, I decided to pursue musical theater at Belmont University.

I am now performing in the world premiere of ‘May We All: A New Country Musical’, which is produced by the famed country duo “Florida Georgia Line”.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has definitely been a bumpy road getting to where I am.

I’ve struggled with challenges that many artists and creators endure: self-doubt, self-comparison, time management, etc. But more than that, I have a huge problem with stretching myself thin in many directions.

I’m often told that I “can’t do it all”, and I hardly ever listen. Pursuing a BFA doesn’t leave much room for extra-curricular activities, so it’s an ongoing battle to decide how to spend my free time.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am primarily an actor with an equal passion for singing/songwriting. I’ve been writing for most of my life, singing original works in talent shows and in my home living room.

Only in the past few years did I decide to pursue theater. I recently played the role of Jesus in Godspell at Belmont. It was a beautiful production that reached a lot of people in ways we never imagined. I am most proud of my current gig.

I am currently playing the role of PJ in ‘May We All: A New Country Musical’, produced by the famed country duo “Florida Georgia Line”. It features many Broadway actors and creatives, and it’s been a privilege to work alongside these seasoned professionals.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I’m featured in the show as a dancer, and it’s been rewarding in that aspect. I only started dancing about 4 years ago, and it’s hard to believe my journey has led me here.

I remember a time when I thought I’d never be able to move the way that we do in the show. I’m so lucky to have had people in my life that pushed me to train and find my groove.
