Today we’d like to introduce you to Keymaya Butler.
Hi Keymaya, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always had an interest in music from the age of 11. I started pushing music during my junior year in high school. After graduation, I continued my education at full sail university in audio engineering, shortly after I started my career in music producing in 2020. In 2021 I gained momentum in producing for a couple of locals, attending beat battles as well as Opening my recording studio, with help. During that time I also gained momentum as far as being an artist.
I performed a lot and traveled to Atlanta & Louisiana. 2022 was a little bit calmer I went through a lot of things mentally but near the 4th Quarter, I turned producing up a notch. Here we are in 2023 and I’m proud of where I am. Smart & clever with more knowledge & ready to apply it. I got where I am today by staying me, and standing on what I believe in. I thank everybody who played a part in my getting to where I am today, I didn’t do it alone.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a lot of struggles for me, the pressure of being a female with a lot of talent, betrayal, Knowing & understanding the business, etc. Losing my cousin a day before my birthday in 2018 as well as losing my grandfather in August 2022 to cancer, it took a huge toll on my mental health & physical well being. I took a lot of losses on my journey but I’m proud of who I am today.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am An Artist, Songwriter, Engineer, and Producer All under Kayy Productions LLC & Now I Own A clothing Brand “Devine Timing Clothing”, I really can do just about anything I put my mind to. I’m mostly known for producing locally, but my family and friends know me for everything mostly being an Artist.
I am most proud of me staying me, fighting & overcoming every battle that was thrown my way. One big accomplishment for me is my beat app (Prod By Kayy Beats) I’m proud of my growth and progress mentally. What sets me apart from others is my Drive & passion for everything I do.
Any big plans?
My Plans for the future will be to start teaching others how to produce (Engineer, Make beats ETC). I want my clothing brand to be global because I feel It speaks volumes. I want to be a successful Entrepreneur & Creative & I will. I just want to live & be a voice using my music.
