Today we’d like to introduce you to Lapricia Howlett

Hi LaPricia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, my name is LaPricia! LBH Picnic and Gather was born out of love for creating beautiful spaces to gather and celebrate friendships, love, and life! It originated from being just a joy-filled hobby and wanting to do something special to show care and appreciation towards family and friends. I was initially hesitant about turning what I love to do in my spare time into a business because, I was afraid that I would lose interest and the enjoyment would be lost if it became a “job”. With a bit of a push from some of my closest friends, LBH Picnic and Gather decided to share that joy with others. The goal is to assist with celebrating special occasions; whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, proposal, date, bachelorette party, or just a friendly gathering!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road definitely hasn’t been smooth. Being a beginner and new to entrepreneurship, my biggest struggles were trying to find balance/structure between managing a full-time job & starting something on the side. The hardest part for me is the business aspect- promoting, marketing, social media, & finding my audience. I’m kind of an introvert and loner and it has taken a lot of energy for me to network & promote.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I setup/create picnic spaces to help celebrate special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, or just a fun friend gathering. I’m known for being a planner, creative, & my organization. I am most proud of just finding the courage to start and being able to make my clients smile by executing something beautiful for them to enjoy. My attention to detail, willingness to go above & beyond, and customer service sets me apart from others.

How do you define success?
Success to me is stepping outside of your comfort zone in faith, even when the odds are against you, and giving whatever you want to do your best try; Achieving a goal & execution.

Pricing:

  • Package 1: Just the Two of Us ($150) 2 guests
  • Package 2: A Few More ($200) 3-4 guests
  • Package 3: Group ($255) 6+ guests
  • *For each additional person over six, there will be a $25 fee per person (12 person maximum)
